About Grammy and Gee

We are a Children and Maternity Boutique in Tallahassee, FL, which is a mother and daughter partnership. This store is a life long dream, being fulfilled by owner, Stacy Hartmann.

Stacy and her husband Kyle attended Florida State University and after 5 years of marriage were transferred with Kyle's company from Jacksonville back to Tallahassee. Stacy was born with a strong and determined will, an excess of energy and an entrepreneurial spirit. Her dream was to someday own her own business and her parents always told her growing up, that she could do anything she set her mind to.

The dream and plan was constantly being formed and revamped in Stacy's mind. When she became pregnant with their first child and shopped for maternity clothes and infant wear, the inspiration came for the business. Next was to see if her mother, Sandy, future grandmother and co-owner would catch the vision. Coming from a close knit family, Stacy knew she would like her mom to be a part of this new venture, as well as a hands-on grandmother. The name of the store came to Stacy in the middle of a sleepless night... Grammy and Gee. Grammy is the name Sandy spontaneously used when talking to her unborn grandchild.

Gee is the first sound Stacy made as an infant and the basis for her first nickname, Baby Gee. Stacy's desire, vision and enthusiasm won over her mother. Sandy began to think seriously about giving up her home, job and life of 34 years in Jacksonville, to head out on this new journey with her daughter. Within a relatively short time, Stacy formulated a business plan, had a baby and opened the store. Daughter Abbie is now a big sister to Kyle and Stacy's second child, Kate.  They both can be seen around Grammy and Gee and are beautiful models for the lines the store carries.
